American calamus - Acorus americanus
American calamus, aka American sweet flag, is considered semi-aquatic, thriving best in consistently saturated, marshy soils. Ecologies such as bogs, swamps, fens, and shallow waters at the edges of ponds, lakes, and streams are ideal. Does very well in containers - ones that do not drain are great for keeping things consistently mucky with occasional shallow water after rains, so long as mosquitoes are considered.
