Feralwood select: This American hazelnut seed originates from plantings within the Feralwood project. Seed nuts offered are collected from the 4 highest yielding trees in the Feralwood plantings.
Promise Hedge: These seed come from a wild hedge, hundreds of feet long, growing along hwy 226 near Polkville, NC. This hazelnut hedge is growing between a major rural artery and a large, modern agricultural field - an abundant and diverse gift of the Earth sandwiched between forces that aim to divert our attention away from these gifts. And so this seed is called Promise Hedge, as it signifies a promise of the Earth to look after those creatures who orient their awareness toward her, even in the midst of being paved over and poisoned. The hedge is very diverse, consisting of dozens and dozens of individual plants growing in close proximity. Even in these poor conditions yields were worth noting on many plants, including lots with sizable nuts.
