Seedlings offered are born from the cultivar ‘Howard’. This cultivar is known for late leaf-out and flowering, high yields, and a compact size.
Seed was sourced from Burnt Ridge Nursery and this is what they have to say about the mother trees: Plump and well filled. Nutmeats have a great flavor and a light colored kernel in a well sealed easily crackable seed shell. Parent tree is compact, precocious, very high yielding, and self fruitful. Howard Persian Walnut is late leafing and blooming, making it less susceptible to late frost and blight.
