Green hawthorn seed is sold in quantities of 25, 50, or 100. Seed requires cold stratification

Green hawthorn seed is collected from healthy and beautiful cultivars. The cultivar(s) I collect from is known as Winter King, which has the important trait of resistance to cedar-apple rust.

Seed requires a cold stratification for Spring planting. Seed will come fresh and packed in moist coir for stratification. Expect most seed to germinate sporadically throughout the Spring and Summer. Some seed may continue to emerge sporadically in Fall, and the following Spring.

This hawthorn species has a native distribution primarily in the southeastern US. The edible fruits have well-documented medicinal properties, particular to the cardio-vascular system, placing hawthorn berries in a long list of indigenous medicinal foods.
