Seed of this hybrid oak are sold in quantities of 50 and 100. Limited quantity. Currently sprouting radicles in cold storage and should be planted ASAP.
Hybrid of dwarf chinkapin oak (Q. prinoides) and chinkapin oak (Q. muehlenbergii). Mature trees are large shrubs, at 20 feet high and 20 feet wide. Can produce acorns in as little as 3 years from seed.
Low-to-no detectable tannins on the acorns I have taste-tested. Acorns are small and ripen early in September.
