Seed of this hybrid oak are sold in quantities of 50 and 100. These are fall-sprouting acorns and should be planted ASAP.
Hybrid of dwarf chinkapin oak (Q. prinoides) and chinkapin oak (Q. muehlenbergii). Mature as large shrubs, around 15 feet high and 15 feet wide. May produce acorns in as little as 3 years from seed.
Low-to-no detectable tannins on the acorns I have taste-tested. Acorns are on the small side and ripen early in September.
