Cydonia oblonga - quince is known for its highly aromatic fruit, drought tolerance, overall hardiness, and high pectin content. It can be prepared in various ways, such as jams or marmalades.

Quince seedlings are also known as a dwarfing rootstock for pears.

Seed was collected from wild-borne fruits that emerged in a field left to go fallow near the South Mountains in NC. Interestingly, about a fifteen minute drive from this location is a road called Quince Road. I do wonder what the story is!

Fruits from the mother trees are pictured.
