1 year old rooted stem cuttings, sold bare root.

A very ecologically supportive and utilitarian plant, silky dogwood is a deciduous shrub native to wetland areas of the eastern US. It is one of the best shrubs to tend many wildlife needs in a moist environment, or any environment provided adequate mulch and soil with good moisture retentive properties. The diverse array of wildlife needs this plant meets include food for mammals, songbirds, and insects; it is considered a pollinator plant, supporting a wide range of bees, flies, and butterflies; and it is also a host plant for several butterfly species.

it is often employed, inter-planted with others such as willow species, to stabilize and protect slopes and streambanks, while simultaneously supporting biodiversity. It is very easy to propagate from hardwood stem cuttings taken in dormancy, making it an attractive plant to have for ease in tending large restoration projects. It is also a desired windbreak species.
