Galore: Gathered from a single Mother tree that boasts an incredible amount of fruit. Fruit varies in size from medium-to-large, tastes very sweet. This particular tree produces the most fruit I have ever seen from a persimmon tree. I have observed this tree for over a decade at Red Feather Farm and Pottery located near the South Mountains in NC.
Red Feather: This Mother tree is my favorite. She produces larger-than-typical fruit. It strikes a wonderful balance of fruit size and production. The image above is a representative sample of fruits. Another tree that I have observed for over a decade at Red Feather Farm and Pottery located near the South Mountains in NC.
I recommend growing them out in a loamy, fertile nursery bed for the first growing season. Alternately you can use 5 gallon buckets (about 8 seeds per bucket) with holes in the bottom for drainage. Seeds will germinate in spring. The following fall, during dormancy, dig them up and transplant them to a permanent location. Trees of both sexes are required for good fruit production, and it will take a few years to sex them by flower. Males can be grafted, or they can be coppiced to be kept in a shrub-state to make easy work of gathering the leaves for tea.
