parentage:

Seedling trees of named cultivars. It requires at least two seedling trees for cross-pollination, though more increases your chances of success. Pecans are wind-pollinated.

This year we offer seedlings from two great, Kanza and Stuart. Kanza is considered a northern cultivar, Stuart is not.

Kanza parentage: Kanza is an exceptional northern-adapted pecan cultivar known for its cold hardiness, early ripening, excellent disease resistance (particularly to pecan scab), and consistent production. It produces small to medium-sized nuts with outstanding kernel quality and has become one of the most dependable cultivars for regions with shorter growing seasons. Seed sourced from Burnt Ridge Nursery in Onalaska, WA.

Stuart parentage: Stuart is a classic American pecan cultivar valued for its vigorous growth, adaptability, longevity, and large, attractive nuts. For more than a century it has been widely planted across the southeastern United States and remains known as a hardy, reliable tree with proven performance over a broad range of growing conditions. Seed sourced from Burnt Ridge Nursery in Onalaska, WA.
