muscadine grape
1 year old Bare root seedlings. Generally speaking both sexes are required to bear fruit, though vines cannot be sexed until they reach flowering age.
Muscadine seedlings offered here are grown from a mother vine selected for her creation of abundant, large, sweet fruit ripening in late Summer.
On the land here there exist a great abundance of wild muscadine, and several named cultivars of muscadine have been grown here in the last 4 decades. This makes for a robust gene pool, and at least a couple of wild selections that have emerged along fencelines may be cloned in the future, such as the mother plant of these seedlings.
Great vines for the adventurous grower-forager, hedge establishment, and wildlife feeding. Best trellised in some way.
